2017-18 BTC Calendar: Sean Tobin and Joanne Gabbin

Sean Tobin, a managing director of cross rates sales who runs Deutsche Bank’s San Francisco office, never forgot the woman who inspired himto be his best self. When Joanne Gabbin, creator of the renowned Furious Flower Poetry Center and former director of JMU’s Honors Program, gently told him he’d had to leave the honors program, she also encouraged him to use the talents she saw in him. Out of gratitude for her mentoring, Sean and his wife, Michele, created the first professorship in the new Honors College in Joanne’s honor. “Someone like Joanne,” Tobin says, “needs to be celebrated.”
