JMU Arts explores global partnership with Hansung University in South Korea

In May 2025, Rubén Graciani, dean of JMU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, held a special master class for ballet students at Hansung University in Seoul, South Korea. Graciani was accompanied by MiKyoung Lee, director of JMU’s School of Art, Design and Art History. Together, they visited Hansung University to explore potential collaboration in the areas of international exchange and the development of joint academic programs.

The two universities agreed to establish practical cooperative relationships centered on:  

  • Operating exchange student and joint credit programs

  • Holding international joint workshops and master classes

  • Promoting joint student exhibition and performance projects

  • Operating international summer school programs

  • Activating faculty exchanges and joint research 

Hansung University is a private university located in Seongbuk District, northern Seoul, with a strong focus on holistic and interdisciplinary education, aiming to nurture students who have “an open mind and a vision for international competitiveness.”
