Train, Moon Taxi to perform at JMU’s Atlantic Union Bank Center Oct. 2

Grammy-winning rock band Train and Nashville-based alternative rock band Moon Taxi will perform at James Madison University’s Atlantic Union Bank Center on Oct. 2, 2026.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Moon Taxi will open the concert at 7 p.m. and Train will perform at 8 p.m.

Tickets will go on-sale to the general public beginning at 12pm ET on Monday, Aug. 24. A JMU Community pre-sale will begin on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 10am ET.

Train has sold more than 10 million albums and 30 million tracks worldwide since forming in 1994. The band has earned three Grammys and is known for hits including "Drops of Jupiter," "Hey, Soul Sister" and "Drive By." The band has placed 14 songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and released 13 albums that reached the Billboard 200.

Moon Taxi will open the show. The five-member band released its sixth studio album, “Set Yourself Free,” on its independent label, 12th South Records. The 13-track album reflects a collaborative approach developed over more than 15 years of performing and recording together and blends rock, pop, electronic and bluegrass influences, including the single "Classics" and "Evergreen," which features Grammy-winning artist Molly Tuttle.
