Students Launch "30 for 30" Campaign
NewsJMU students have initiated a Haiti relief campaign with a goal to raise $30,000 from the JMU community in 30 days. The campaign, "30 for 30: Strength Through Unity,"asks students, faculty and staff to make donations that will support three charities:
- Partners in Health: http://www.standwithhaiti.org/haiti
- Fonkoze: http://www.fonkoze.org
- Haiti Outreach Foundation: http://haitioutreachfoundation.cfsites.org/
At the present time, JMU does not have plans to send relief workers to Haiti. For now, it is best to let trained and experienced organizations aid the people of Haiti. As time passes other needs may be identified that the JMU community can become involved in.
