Flint is a lecturer in finance and teaches Finance Fundamentals and Financial Planning and Wealth Management. After teaching at JMU as an adjunct for several years, he joined the full-time faculty in 2026. His teaching connects financial concepts with practical decisions students will encounter in their personal and professional lives.
He is a certified financial planner and brings more than 18 years of experience across commercial banking and financial planning. He also owns and operates Flint Financial Planning, serving families and business owners. His professional experience informs his classroom instruction and his ability to explain financial topics in clear, approachable terms, including how changes in interest rates, inflation and financial markets affect everyday financial decisions.
Flint earned an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Nebraska and a bachelors degrees in economics; and media arts and design from James Madison University.
