Madison DYOC
Contest Guidelines

Description

Madison, the magazine of James Madison University, invites JMU students to design the cover of our Fall 2020 issue. The theme of the issue, which will be released ahead of the November election, will be civic engagement.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for creative, original designs framed around the question, “What would you do to strengthen democracy?”  In the spirit of Madison, designs should be nonpartisan and respectful. Illustrator and InDesign templates are attached for students to use.

The contest is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Individual and group designs will be accepted. There is no limit on how many designs one can submit.

Additional Information

Madison staff will select the winners in late April. The first-place submission will be featured on the cover and in the magazine. The second- and third-place designs will also be featured in the magazine.

In addition to being available on campus and in the community, the Fall 2020 issue will be mailed to nearly 120,000 JMU alumni, parents of current students, prospective students and their families, faculty, staff and friends of the university.
