April is designated as National Stress Awareness Month, and the CFI is pleased to host the inaugural Faculty Well-being Weeks. From April 6 to 17, this exciting collaborative effort provides all faculty with opportunities to focus on various components of well-being.
Partners: JMU Libraries, The Counseling Center, President’s Council on Health and Well-being, Balanced Dukes, CommonHealth, and Talent Development
Friday - April 10, 2026
Join us in the George Washington National Forest for a day of exploration, learning, and connection. Hear from local experts who will share information on the natural and cultural history of one of Virginia’s most treasured public landscapes, enjoy an interpretive hike that will reconnect you with nature, and collaborate with fellow JMU colleagues as we explore meaningful ways to integrate public lands stewardship into your work on campus. Students from GEOG 341 (Wilderness Studies) will join us, adding a student perspective to this educational outdoor experience. Whether you are passionate about preserving the environment or simply eager to get outside, this immersive outing offers inspiration, community, and a deeper appreciation for the lands we all share.
Program details will be sent to registered attendees prior to the event.
Lunch and transportation to/from JMU will be provided.
In partnership with the Department of History and Department of Geography
