May Symposium Rapid Roundtable

Fri, 5 Apr 2024 12:00 AM - 11:55 PM

Rapid Roundtables are returning to May Symposium for a second year!

Rapid Roundtables are 15-minute sessions in which faculty will present a topic and provide a brief synopsis of why they chose to discuss it with peers. The remaining time will be dedicated to faculty participants discussing the topic. We hope these discussions will lead to future interdisciplinary collaborations across the university.

All faculty are invited to submit topics for discussion in the areas of career planning, scholarship, teaching, and organizational culture and development.

Please submit your information using the survey link below!

May Symposium Rapid Roundtables will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Topics from last year include

  • Teaching General Education Courses with the new DEJA+ Tag
  • Credit for Prior Learning
  • Research or Project Development in an International and Intercultural Context
  • The parameters of care: Considering pedagogy as caring for students and ourselves.
  • Every Campus a Refuge (ECAR) Network
  • Advanced fair use in teaching and scholarship
  • ChatGPT and the impact on any courses that ask students to write as part of the course requirements. Go!

Submissions due by Friday, April 5, at 12 PM.

CFI programs will be canceled automatically if JMU is closed for inclement weather.

We want this program to be welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for all of our participants. Please describe any considerations or accommodations (e.g., dietary, disability, wellness, cultural, etc.) you want us to know about in your account profile.
