The art of teaching larger seminar-based classes (25+ students) demands innovative approaches and nuanced understanding. This roundtable discussion aims to delve deep into the unique challenges and effective strategies for conducting such classes at the undergraduate level.
Join us for an engaging session where we will:
Explore Unique Challenges: What are the specific difficulties faced in managing larger seminar-based classes? From maintaining student engagement to ensuring individual attention, we'll open the floor to discuss these multifaceted challenges.
Review Existing Strategies: What methods and techniques have educators employed so far? This segment will focus on existing proposals and practices for running larger seminar-based classes effectively. Attendees are encouraged to share and examine diverse pedagogical approaches.
Exchange Experiences and Insights: Perhaps the most vital part of our discussion—a collaborative exchange of experiences. Participants are invited to share their successes, hurdles, and unique stories from their own classrooms.
Date & Time: Wednesday, 3/27, from 2 - 3:15 PM
