Juried Art Exhibition Fall 2026

Exhibition Dates: November 9–20, 2026
Reception: Wednesday, November 11, 5pm
Duke Hall Room 1031

This juried exhibition showeases the artwork from artists in the Fall 2026 Intermediate & Advanced Painting sections taught under Painting faculty member Nieko McDaniel. In total, there are 33 students in the sections offered this semester. Each student had to apply to participate in the exhibition, and 15 artworks were selected to be exhibited. There was no limit to how many artworks could be chosen from one section. This exhibition was designed to promote healthy competition and quality artwork in the painting area. The exhibition is juried by artists Jonathan Ege (Painting Instructor at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington) and Natalie Wadlington (Assistant Professor of Art in Painting and Drawing at Angelo State University.

In these courses, and displayed in their artwork, students learned how to create a body of work around a central topic of their choice for the duration of the semester. Research on their chosen topic informs the artwork they make. Beyond using oil paint, students incorporate various painting techniques, have their artwork be an untraditional shape, use uniquely fabricated painting tools, implement handmade pigments, and use mixed media in their paintings

Jurors:
Jonathan Ege - Painting Instructor of Art at Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington
Natalie Wadlington - Assistant Professor of Art in Painting and Drawing at Angelo State University
