EmpowHER is an event series that aims to provide resistance training programming designed for JMU women (students, faculty, and staff) and the opportunity to experience the weight room in a comfortable, educational, and open setting. The goal of EmpowHER is to provide relevant knowledge and tools needed to develop confidence in incorporating weight training into your own training plan.

Spring 2024 Program:

Our EmpowHER team is excited to take on the spring semester by offering a new series of weekly workout programs ! Each week will include a full body workout, as well as informational handouts on a variety of health and fitness-related topics. Our goal at EmpowHER is to build both strength and confidence so you can safely and effectively execute resistance training routines whether you’re at home or at the gym! These programs will include the use of resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic lifting, and much more.

Program Dates

EmpowHER programs will be held from 5:30-6:30pm every Thursday from February 22nd – April 25th (except for March 14th when the university is closed for spring break). Sessions will be held in Godwin Hall room 116A unless stated otherwise on the registration email.
