DeAnne Chenoweth received a B.A. degree in political science from Bethany College. She completed an M.A. in international studies from the Claremont Graduate University and a second M.A. from the department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland.  She has also worked in roles related to research administration and sponsored programs, both at JMU and The University of Oklahoma. 

DeAnne's teaching experience includes courses in research methods, introductory politics, comparative politics, international relations, human rights, and international conflict and negotiations. At JMU, DeAnne teaches research methods in political science along with introductory courses in American politics and human rights. Her research interests center on development and political economy. She conducted field research on Japan's official development assistance program with a grant from the National Science Foundation and the Monbusho Program for Foreign Researchers.
