International students are welcome, but not expected, to attend Summer Springboard in June or July.  However, if you are in the United States and are able to attend, freshmen and transfer students should reserve an Orientation date.  To reserve an orientation date and to complete important JMU business, first-year students please visit the First Year One Book Web site and transfer students please visit the Transfer One Book Web site.

International students will participate in Transitions, a special international orientation program held in August. This program has been developed to address immigration requirements for maintaining your temporary status, as well as health insurance, classroom issues, safety, transportation and other resources. You will make new friends and get answers to your questions.
