James Madison University is now an official partner university of the Peace Corps Prep program. Recognizing the rising interest and opportunity to expand engagement opportunities for students, JMU will offer a specialized curriculum to students who wish to receive the Peace Corps Prep Certificate.

James Madison University will be launching the program Tuesday, January 17, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Madison Union Ballroom located on the JMU campus. At the event, a panel of returned Peace Corps volunteers will speak and JMU Peace Corps Prep coordinator will give a general overview about the program—marking the start of an exciting new chapter of collaboration.

Students accepted in the Peace Corps Prep program will complete requirements to develop four competencies identified by the Peace Corps: sector-specific skills, foreign language proficiency, intercultural competence, and professional leadership. Official completion of the program at JMU will offer students a competitive edge on the Peace Corps application process.
