Nancy Reséndiz Mejía is from Michoacán, Mexico, but migrated to Harrisonburg, Virginia, as a child. She is the Director of the Shenandoah Valley Migrant Education Program where she supports newcomer migrant families arriving in the Shenandoah Valley with their children’s education. Her passion is helping the Hispanic population in the valley and ensuring that their children have equitable access to education. Nancy enjoys hiking, visiting local vineyards, tending to her many plants, and spending time with her puppy!
