Good morning, I'm Chris Patterson. Topping today's news -- People along the Ohio River in Indiana and Kentucky are bracing for more flooding today, waiting anxiously for the river to crest.

There's more good economic news today. New home sales have skyrocketed again -- more than six percent last month alone -- which is the sixth consecutive increase. Economists say the booming economy and historic low interest rates are responsible for the boom.

Take 250 hi-tech interactive video games, add some Internet connected computers, and some really strong coffee, put them all together in a remodeled industrial building downtown, and you have all the ingredients for Gameworks, the indoor entertainment parks that are popping up in cities across the country.
Dreamworks, Sega and Universal Studios are the companies behind this hi-tech amusement park, and they plan to open 100 Gameworks in the U-S, Asia and Europe during the next 5 years.

We're all familiar with discount clothing stores, discount airlines, and discount gas stations. Well, now there's a place to get your final mark-down. Jim Hill has the story.

There's a new scam afloat in Beijing these days. An American company is selling one-square-inch specks of land in each of the 50 U-S states to Chinese with dreams of emigrating to America.
Own a piece of America is what the ad says. So far, there have been about 300 orders for the tiny plots, which cost 650-dollars, or about one year's wages for most Chinese.

It was another beautiful day in the valley today. Tell us, Pat, can we look forward to more weather like this?

(PAT)
It was a gorgeous day, Chris, but don't put your coat away yet. First, let's take a quick look at the national weather map.

(VO)
Rain covered most of the Atlantic states today, and cold blowing snow continued across the upper Midwest and Great Lakes.
The stationary high that has stalled across the Pacific states is keeping days dry and warm -- at least for the next couple of days.
STILL STORE - VO
(Tonight)
For tonight, expect partly cloudy skies in Harrisonburg with a low of around 35. Winds will diminsh around sunset and we could see some fog at lower elevations.
STILL STORE - VO
(Tomorrow)
Tomorrow, we'll look for increasing clouds with a chance of rain by the afternoon. Tomorrow's high will only get up to about 48 degrees and the low tomorrow night will get down to near freezing.

And, finally, it's time for some real dummies to get on the slopes.

Every year the good people at Holiday Valley Resort, in upstate New York, end ski season with a dummy race. The only rules are that each dummy must be a recognizable character. And, to win -- the dummy must be able to finish the race standing up.
You know what I like about this story? Those dummies ski better than I do.
