Upcoming Reunion
The Honors Program is planning a student trip and alumni reunion in Washington, D.C. in spring 2008. The event will include tours of a Smithsonian Museum, lunch, a matinee performance, and a later afternoon reception for alumni. New Director
As of July 2007, the Honors Program has a new director. Dr. Barry Falk comes to James Madison University from Iowa State University where he was a professor of economics at Iowa State University for twenty-five years. He worked with the Honors Program at Iowa State for fifteen years and was responsible for Iowa State's first undergraduate research symposium. For more information, see our administration page.
Prestigious Scholarships
JMU honors students have been awarded nationally prestigious scholarships. Katherine Kross, a senior biology major, was selected for a Goldwater Scholarship for the 2007-2008 academic year. Ryan Powanda,a junior majoring in integrated science and technology, was selected for a Morris K. Udall Scholarship due to his environmental activism. University Studies
