Student Wellness & Outreach provides individual & group counseling for students who are survivors of sexual assault. Counseling is provided to all students, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or when the assault occurred.
Counseling is also provided for secondary survivors, anyone who has been affected by sexual assault. This could be a friend, family member, partner, or acquaintance.
Counseling services are free & confidential. Counselors at SWO will not report a sexual assault to the police unless the student requests that this be done.
Individual counseling can be made by appointment by calling 568-2831, or you may walk in to Warren 404 if in crisis and every attempt will be made to see you immediately.
Students Healing and Rekindling Empowerment (SHARE) is a support group for survivors of sexual assault. SHARE meets one evening per week, and is a safe, confidential environment in which students can gain support from other survivors. For more information, contact SWO at 540-568-2831.
SWO also provides advocacy & referral services for survivors of sexual assault, including providing support through a judicial or criminal process.
Remember, a sexual assault is not your fault, and you deserve support!
