If you would like to enroll in a Hart School class that is closed, or for which you do not meet the requisites, please carefully read and follow these steps:

  1. Download the Override Request Form from the Hart School Advising website. (Override Process Now Closed)
  2. Carefully complete the form in its entirety. Do not write on the form; fill it out before you print it. If you would like multiple overrides, you will need to fill out a separate form for each class.
  3. Print the form and turn it in to Colleen Jetton in Godwin 357 (not to the advising offices). Forms must be submitted between 8:30am November 10 - 4:00pm November 17. Handwritten or late forms will be rejected.

Please note that this policy does not apply to practicums, internships, or non-HM/non-SRM classes.

Override requests are not granted first-come/first-served, but are subject to the review and discretion of the department. Students who request overrides within the given time period, who have followed their catalog requirements, and who have declared the major in a timely fashion will receive priority.

Students will receive a response to their request(s) on Tuesday 12/5 (exception: requests for HM 211/212 will be responded to on Monday 12/11).

If granted an override, it is the student’s responsibility to enroll in the course before the override expires. Unused overrides will be released to other students.
