The Faculty Emeriti Association has a number of active interest groups with robust membership. These groups provide an informal atmosphere for emeriti faculty to gather and socialize. Beer & Hard Cider Tasting Group: Meets every other month in members’ homes or local brew-pubs. If interested, contact: Clarence and Deane Geier ( or Ed and Barbara McKee (

Book Club: Meets monthly, except in July, August and December, usually on the third Monday afternoon. The choice of books is eclectic and includes a balance of fiction and nonfiction. If interested, contact: Joe Marchal (

Breakfast Group: Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9 AM. If interested, contact: Eileen Nelson (

Bridge Group: Meets regularly to play bridge. If interested, contact: Kay Knickrehm (

Dinner Group: Meets monthly with the usual exception of August and December. The lively potluck dinners are hosted by group members. If interested, contact: Ron Wyancko and Doris Pye (

Film Group: A loosely structured group of movie buffs who enjoy getting together with friends to go to the movies and perhaps dinner afterwards. If interested, contact: Violet Allain (

Friends Group: Available to provide assistance to any members needing help with transportation, meals, etc. If you would like some kind of assistance or if you would like to be on the list to help provide assistance, contact: Mary Lou Wylie (

Lunch Group: Meets monthly except in August and December at 11:30 at a local restaurant. This group rotates through the weekdays to accommodate members who have obligations on particular days. Generally 15-20 members are in attendance. You can always count on a lively discussion of local events, members' reent travels, and sometimes even their grandkids' accomplishments! Music Appreciation Group: The Music Appreciation Group would gather regularly to listen to music, watch video performances, and watch or participate in live performances. Group members would provide light refreshments. (You do not have to play an instrument or sing to be in this group.) If interested, contact: Pat Brady (

Travel Group: The Travel Group will suggest travel options, both day trips and weekend trips, for the larger emeriti group, as well as take trips themselves. 

Whisk(e)y Appreciation Group: The Whiskey Appreciation Group will meet regularly to taste various whiskeys (Scotch, bourbon, etc.). If interested, contact: Rex Fuller (
