Technical Support for Non-Degree Seeking Students

For problems with Blackboard:

Go to https://blackboard.jmu.edu, and click on "Test Browser" in the lower right corner.  This will take you to a series of tests that will help you determine if your computer has all the required software and components to run Blackboard.

If you do, and are still having a problem, click on "Help" in the upper right corner of the screen.  This will take you to the JMU Blackboard Support page, where you'll find lots of resources, tutorial videos, and information to help you make the most of your Blackboard access.

For problems with the Non-Degree Seeking Student application:

Email help@collegenet.com for assistance.

For questions about your JMU email:

Make sure you have activated your electronic ID (E-ID) and your JMU e-mail account 48 hours after your application has been submitted and processed (you will receive an email informing you that your application has been processed). You can do this at www.jmu.edu/accounts and click on "Activate or Change your Electronic ID Password". You will be asked to complete brief online training in computer security measures, and then set a password for your E-ID account.

Once that is complete, you can access your email by going to www.jmu.edu and clicking on "Current Students" on the left side of the page, and then clicking on "Web Mail."

If you are still having difficulty accessing your email, visit http://www.jmu.edu/computing/helpdesk/.

For questions about a tuition bill:

All student bills are now online. Notification of these bills is through your JMU email account. This notification will explain how to log into the system. QuickPay allows students to make electronic payments using their credit card (MasterCard, American Express or Discover with a vendor service charge) OR to pay electronically with a check at no cost. You can also mail a check to pay your tuition. If you wish to receive a paper bill for the upcoming academic year, you will need to fill out and submit the Request for A Paper Bill. See the University Business Office website for complete details on tuition billing (http://www.jmu.edu/ubo/billing.shtml).
