JMU / ASEP Partnership

James Madison University (JMU) Outreach Programs is proud to partner with the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) to offer their Coaching Principles online course to teachers and coaches around the country for continuing education units (CEUs), undergraduate credit, and graduate credit.

This option is especially valuable to elementary, middle school, and high school faculty-coaches who are required to earn continuing education credit to maintain their teaching certificate (and to earn a raise). From anywhere across the country and from the comfort of your own home, you have the ability to earn continuing education credit by taking a course in which you have genuine interest: coaching!

Under the arrangement, which is scheduled to launch November 12, teachers and coaches can take Coaching Principles online through James Madison University and earn 4.5 continuing education units (CEUs), 3.0 undergraduate credit hours, or 3.0 graduate credit hours. To learn more about the curriculum, visit the ASEP Web site at http://www.asep.com/asep_content/org/JMU.cfm, or call Don Flynn at 800-747-5698, ext. 2316 or e-mail DonF@hkusa.com. To learn more about registering for CEUs, undergraduate credit, or graduate credit, contact Nicki Ulmer at JMU at 540-568-2870 or ulmernc@jmu.edu.

To register for this course, you will need to do two things:

  1. Register through JMU for graduate credit, undergraduate credit, or CEUs (see instructions below).
  2. Register through ASEP at the following link: http://www.asep.com/asep_content/org/JMU.cfm.
