Getting Started

Computing News & Alerts

Information Technology will share planned service interruptions and timely computing news. It’s always good to stay up-to-date with computing alerts and news.

Communication & Collaboration

Faculty and staff can collaborate with students and colleagues using a variety of tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Connect to the Network

Get fast and secure on-campus network access and secure access to restricted services from on or off-campus through the SSL VPN.

Share data with other users and access your own data from multiple locations (on and off campus) with OneDrive and Network File Storage.

Email

Faculty and staff are automatically provided email accounts which include calendaring and contact management service. Access these services through Microsoft Outlook from desktop, web-based, or mobile clients.

MyMadison

MyMadison is your gateway to JMU information in one location. You can manage your benefits information, view your pay statements, access your class schedule and rosters, change your eID password, and more.

Test Scoring

The Test Scoring Center provides grading and analysis of scan sheets used for quizzes, tests, exams and surveys.​

Computer Security

Keep yourself informed about computer security. And it’s always good practice to keep your computer and data secure.

Computing Labs

Information Technology provides computing labs with Windows & Mac computers.

Phone and Voicemail Resources

Telecommunications offers many services for the JMU Community. Faculty and Staff have access to single-line phones or multi-line phones.

Software

JMU offers many software titles for use by faculty and staff, including Microsoft Office for use on personally-owned computers.

Campus Technology Coordinators

Technology Coordinators serve as contacts between your college/department and the department of Information Technology. They are a great resource for your computing questions. Get to know your college or departmental technology coordinator.

Technology Training

Faculty and Staff have various opportunities to learn more about computing, technology, instructional technology and specific software through workshops offered by IT Training.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning features online video courses on the latest software taught by recognized industry experts. All faculty and staff have access to the entire LinkedIn Learning training library.
