The Academic Services Center is located on the second floor of Zane Showker Hall. ASC is not open during the evenings or on weekends; it runs on the university schedule.

ASC Announcements 

December Graduates

This message is intended for all College of Business seniors who intend to graduate DECEMBER 2009. 

Your completed application for graduation along with a copy of your degree progress report (from ecampus) is due in the College of Business Academic Services Center (ASC),  Showker Hall, Room 205, no later than  May 1, 2009, after you have registered for your fall semester classes.

Graduation application forms are available in the ASC and at Registration Services, Warren Hall, 3rd floor.

Operating Procedures, April 7, 2009 - May 1, 2009
Fall Semester 2009 Registration

During registration for the fall semester 2009 that begins Tuesday, April 7, 2009, the College of Business Academic Services Center (ASC) will operate under the following procedures:

 

A. HOURS OF OPERATION: The CoB ASC will be open during normal hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday - Friday.

B. APPOINTMENTS WITH ACADEMIC ADVISORS: If you need to meet with your academic advisor, please request an appointment via email. Please be sure to include your name, student ID # and the days and times you are available to meet.

C. OVERRIDES: Request forms for overrides into any course taught in the College of Business will be accessible from the following website, beginning APRIL 27, 2009, 8AM to APRIL 28, 2009, 5PM ONLY: http://cob.jmu.edu/asc/ONLINEOverrideRequestForm.htm. The ASC will only respond to override requests submitted using the online format. EXCEPTIION: All requests for overrides for CIS, OM and MS courses should be directed to the CIS Department Head, Dr. Rick Mathieu at mathierg@jmu.edu.

ISAT 428 Industrial Ecology

ISAT 428 (Industrial Ecology) is an elective in both the COB Sustainability Certificate and the Engineering curriculum. A section of this course will be offered on campus this fall.  For more information contact Steven P. Frysinger, Ph.D. 540-568-2710, frysinsp@jmu.edu

Students can come and get a 15 minute critique of their resume by just walking in at these dates and locations.  No appointment needed.  Mark these dates on your calendar!!  We would love to see you there!

January 20, 2009              End of FREE DROP Period for Spring 2009 Semester.  "W" will apply after this date.

January 20, 2009              End of FREE ADD Period for Spring 2009 Semester Instructor/Dept. Head Signatures required after this date.

January 29, 2009              Last day to add a class with signatures.

February 2, 2009              COB 300 Applications due to the Academic Services Center for Fall 2009 Semester.   Attach a JMU Degree Progress Report.

February 17, 2009            Student Assessment Day (no classes 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

March 1, 2009                 Last Day to declare or change a major in the College of Business.(applies to both business and non-business majors)

March 9-13, 2009             SPRING BREAK

March 16, 2009                Fourth Block courses begin.

March 20, 2009                End of course adjustment -Deadline for withdrawing with "W" grade or changing course credit option for Spring 2009 Semester.

March 23, 2009                Summer 2009 registration begins.

April 7, 2009                     Fall 2009 registration begins.

May 1, 2009                     Fall 2009 Graduation Applications due to the COB ASC for COB Majors ONLY

May 4-8, 2009                  EXAM Week

May 9, 2009                     Commencement begins at 8:30 a.m. in Bridgeforth Stadium.
