The Academic Services Center is located on the second floor of Zane Showker Hall. ASC is not open during the evenings or on weekends; it runs on the university schedule.

ASC Announcements


College of Business Spring 2010 Override - Online System 

The College of Business online override system will go live beginning 8am on Monday, November 16th.  The system will be operational until 5pm on Tuesday, November 17th. This is the only request format that will be accepted for any course taught by the College of Business.  

Be sure to submit your override request during the timeframe specified.  No override requests will be accepted before 8am Monday, November 16th or after 5pm Tuesday, November 17th. No override requests will be accepted for any College of Business course  at the start of the  spring semester 2010.

All override requests will be answered via email by Friday, December 11th.

Aug. 24  Classes begin at 8:00 a.m.

Sept. 1  End of FREE DROP Period for Fall 2009 Semester; "W" will apply after this date

Sept. 1  End of FREE ADD Period for Fall 2009 Semester; Instructor/Dept. Head Signatures required after this date

Sept. 10  Last day to add a class with signatures

Oct. 1  COB 300 Applications due to the Academic Services Center for Spring and Summer 2010. A JMU Degree Progress Report must be submitted with your application.

Oct. 9-11  Family Weekend

Oct. 12  Second Block courses begin

Oct. 15  Last Day to declare or change a major in the College of Business (applies to business and non-business majors)

Oct. 17  JMU Homecoming

Oct. 22  End of course adjustment

Oct. 26  Registration begins for 2010 Spring semester

Nov. 23-27  Thanksgiving Break

Dec. 1  Spring 2010 Graduation Applications due to the COB ASC for COB (Majors ONLY)

Dec. 7-11  EXAM Week

Dec. 12  Commencement begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Convocation Center
