During Monuments and Machines: Engineering for Kids, students will:

  • Learn the engineering design process
  • Strengthen their problem-solving skills by engaging in real world engineering problems
  • Explore various career options
  • Develop new math and science skills while having fun

This full day camp will feature “Monuments around the World” in the mornings and “Rube Goldberg Machines” in the afternoons.

Ages: 9 - 12 year olds

Dates: August 8th - 12th, 2022, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Program Fee: $250

Monuments around the World:

Are you interested in famous buildings? Have you ever wanted to construct your own version of one? Join us as we learn about various architecture around the world through energetic lessons, videos, and trivia! We will then construct our own versions of these buildings using various materials!

At the end of the week, we will have a gallery of our creations for parents/guardians to tour!

Rube Goldberg Machines:

Are you curious about how machines work? Have you ever wanted to create your own? Join us as we learn about Rube Goldberg machines- contraptions that use multiple simple machines chained together to accomplish a task.

Even our most intricate, modern machines boil down to a handful of basic simple devices, such as the lever and pulley. You encounter these simple machines in your daily lives, such as when you open a car door (lever).

During this camp, we will learn about various Rube Goldberg machines and then construct our very own! At the end of the week, we will have a gallery of our Rube Goldberg machines for parents/guardians to check out!
