Admission Requirements

Please send all admission requirements to Theresa Jennings at jennintl@jmu.edu. Admission decisions cannot be made until all materials are received.

To apply for admission, you’ll need:

  • Completed online application: Must be completed a few weeks before the start of the semester in which you intend to enroll. Our Spring 2023 cohort will begin on January 17, 2023.
  • Academic transcripts: You’ll need an official transcript from the institution that granted your undergraduate degree; other transcripts are optional. For an expedited conditional admission decision, you may email unofficial transcripts to parksrx@jmu.edu.
  • A personal statement: Please submit a 450-650 word double-spaced personal essay describing your interest in pursuing this graduate certificate in cyber intelligence.
  • Two professional letters of reference: Each letter should provide information about your character, ethical conduct, and ability to perform graduate-level work. At least one letter should be from a faculty member at the last school you attended unless five years have passed. Acceptable substitutes include a work supervisor or someone who can speak to your potential for graduate-level work.
  • $60 non-refundable application fee
  • A professional resume
  • Background check (international applicants)

Please note that our admissions cannot make decisions on applications until all materials have been submitted for review. For questions regarding admission and application materials, please contact Rosalie Parks via email at parksrx@jmu.edu or via phone @ 540.733.3019.
