Senior religion major Chloe Sinn has been named the Outstanding Student in Religion by the religion faculty at James Madison University.  Sinn will graduate with her bachelor's degree this spring and plans to study for a master's degree in Library and Information Science beginning this fall.  When asked about her experience studying religion, Sinn commented that the religion major at JMU has helped prepare her for working in library and information science: "The interdisciplinary nature of the study of religion has deeply strengthened my ability to articulate broad analytical concepts, qualitative research, and raw data to an audience in a way that is coherent."  She hopes that her future work in library science will help preserve and organize systems of information and allow future generations to access the voices, actions, and motivations of those who came before them.  In particular, Sinn said, "I want to make sure that people and communities that feel underrepresented or unheard can amplify their voices and spread their forms of knowledge.  The idea of facilitating greater access to information for one community at a micro level excites me deeply, and I believe that small scale actions will have ripple effects."
