2023-2024 Student Parking Permits Available

PERMIT PURCHASE AND REGISTRATION:

Beginning August 1, you may purchase your 2023 – 2024 virtual parking permit via the Parking and Transit Services web portal (jmu.aimsparking.com). Step-by-step instructions for vehicle registration can be found at https://www.jmu.edu/parking/student-permit-purchase.shtml. When registering, please check carefully to make sure that your license plate and vehicle information are accurately entered into your account.

Students may purchase parking permits for the full academic year (August 1, 2023 through August 15, 2024), or for the fall semester only (August 1 through December 31, 2023). See below for a list of additional student permit options.

Because parking permits are virtual, no physical credential is required once your vehicle is registered. Your license plate is your permit! Be sure to park in lots corresponding to the privileges granted by your permit. A full copy of the campus parking regulations and a campus map showing the locations of student parking lots are available online at http://www.jmu.edu/parking.

All vehicles on campus must be parked with the license plate clearly visible from parking facility travel lanes in order to be scanned via License Plate Recognition. If your vehicle does not have a front license plate, and you would prefer to back in to parking spaces, you will need to obtain a special vanity plate from Parking and Transit Services that can be displayed on the front bumper of your vehicle so that it can be scanned. Vanity plates can be purchased at the Parking and Transit Services office for a one-time fee of $10.00.
