2021-2022 student permits now available

PRIOR TO PURCHASING, BE SURE TO VERIFY THAT YOUR ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT BY LOGGING ON TO MYMADISON AND CHOOSING THE “STUDENT CENTER” OPTION UNDER THE STUDENT TAB.

If you purchase your permit online between July 7 and August 8 will be sent to your home mailing address as listed in your MyMadison account.

If you purchase your permit online between August 9 and August 17 will be sent to your local mailing address as listed in your MyMadison account.

Permit orders submitted online are processed the following business day and typically arrive within two weeks of the purchase date.

If you purchase your permit online on August 18 or later, you will need to pick the permit up in person at Parking Services. The permit pickup drive-thru will be available for fast, convenient pickup from August 23 – August 27, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The drive-thru will be located on Lakeside Service Drive outside of the Parking Services office.

If you are picking up your permit, remember to allow 24 hours for processing. Be sure to bring a photo ID when picking up your permit at the drive-thru.

Parking permits are required to park in all campus parking lots. 2020-2021 permits remain valid in appropriate student lots through August 31.

 

PERMIT OPTIONS:

Parking Services offers a variety of parking permit options to students to save money and meet their individual needs. In addition to the full-time, annual permit, please consider the following options:

Commuter Carpool Permit: Three students can split the cost of a parking permit and carpool to campus. The group purchasing a carpool permit will receive bumper stickers for three vehicles, and a single hangtag to display when one of the vehicles is parked on campus.

Commuter Evening Permit: Commuters who only park on campus after 4:00 PM can purchase an evening permit at a reduced rate of $50.00 per semester. Evening permits are valid from 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday – Thursday, and from 4:00 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday.

Remote Lot Permit: Drivers can purchase a permit to park their vehicle in R10 Lot, accessible from Hunters Road, at a reduced rate of $50.00 per semester. Harrisonburg Public Transit bus service to campus and other destinations is available at nearby bus stops.

 

2021-2022 PARKING PERMIT FEES:

  • Full-time Annual Permit - $300.00 
  • Full-time Semester Permit - $150.00 (Available only to students graduating in December or students participating in internships, student teaching positions, or study abroad courses in the spring)
  • Part-time Semester Permit - $75.00 (Available only to students classified as part-time based on credit hours)
  • Semester Commuter Carpool Permit – $150.00 (Available for purchase in person at the Parking Services office to groups of three students)
  • Semester Commuter Evening Permit - $50.00 (Available for purchase in person at the Parking Services office. Valid from 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM Monday – Thursday, and 4:00 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday)
  • Semester Remote Lot Permit – $50.00 (Available for purchase in person at the Parking Services office. Valid in R10 Lot only from 7:00 AM Monday – 4:00 PM Friday, and in commuter and resident parking lots from 4:00 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday)

 

EARLY ONLINE PERMIT PURCHASE INCENTIVE DRAWINGS:

Three students who purchase permits online between July 7 and August 8 will be randomly selected to receive 50% off the purchase price of their parking permits. The winners will be notified via email the week of August 9.

Four more students who purchase their permits online between July 7 and August 8 will be randomly selected to win a $100 gift card donated by the JMU Bookstore. The winners will be notified via email the week of August 9.
