When you pay for your metered parking by phone, your license plate and parking time are automatically displayed on a handheld device used by the parking officer.
Although this is unlikely to occur, first review the copy of your ParkMobile receipt to ensure that the license plate, zone and time for which you paid matches the license plate and zone where your vehicle was parked and is within the time indicated on your citation. If you paid for the wrong license plate or zone, or if your time expired, pay the citation or you may follow the instructions on the citation to submit an online appeal. If the license plate, zone and time paid match the information on the citation, provide your citation number and a copy of the ParkMobile receipt that was sent to your email address to Parking and Transit Services via email at parkingservices@jmu.edu.
Yes. Your credit card number and cardholder information are encrypted to the industry standard and no employee or user has access to any cardholder data.
You pay the stated parking rate for the zone where you parked plus a $0.30 transaction fee collected by ParkMobile for the convenience of using their service.
Because metered parking is intended for short-term use, you may only extend up to the maximum time allowed at that location. Example: You pay for 30 minutes and realize that you need more time. You may extend an additional 15 minutes, up to the 45-minute maximum.
