Football Season Parking Regulations

In response to the amended Executive Order 72 by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, JMU Athletics has announced plans to increase attendance capacity at home football games hosted in Bridgeforth Stadium. In conjunction with the capacity increase, additional parking lots will be reserved to facilitate parking for home games.

Effective Friday, April 9, the following parking lots will close at 10:00 PM prior to the Saturdays of home football games:

  • Champions Drive Parking Deck, next to Bridgeforth Stadium
  • F Lot, adjacent to Godwin Hall and the Athletic Performance Center
  • G Lot, adjacent to Godwin Hall and the JMU Bookstore
  • P Lot, on Bluestone Drive across from Showker, Hartman and Sonner Halls
  • C5 Lot on Bluestone Drive, next to P Lot
  • R8 Lot on Duke Drive, adjacent to Cardinal House

No new vehicles will be permitted to park in these lots beginning at 4:00 PM on Fridays prior to home games. All vehicles must vacate the lots by 10:00 PM. Any vehicles remaining in the lots at 6:00 AM on game day will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Alternate parking for reserved facilities include the following parking lots (with appropriate permit):

  • R1 Lot, on Duke Drive, adjacent to the Village and D-Hub
  • C4 Lot, adjacent to the Hillside residence halls and accessible via Martin Luther King, Jr. Way
  • R2 Lot, on Newman Avenue across from the JMU entrance on Port Republic Road
