Temporary University Blvd Closure
NewsOn Tuesday and Wednesday, February 24 and 25, a portion of University Boulevard will be closed to all traffic as part of the ongoing University Boulevard Realignment Project. The affected portion of the road will extend from Carrier Drive to Modular Lane, the road leading to the bus stop outside Jennings Hall. The closure is expected to last until 3:00 PM on Wednesday. Transportation options for students will change during the road closure. A temporary transit route from Jennings Hall to Hartman Hall and the Godwin Transit Center will be available from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM on February 24, and from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM on February 25. Shuttles will makes stops at each location approximately every ten minutes, and will include HDPT buses, JMU buses and JMU vans. During the closure, HDPT Black and Pink color routes will be combined. The combined route will make all stops for both routes, with the exception of stops on University Boulevard and the stop at the intersection of Forest Hill Road and Port Republic Road.
Students are advised to allow extra time to get to their destinations during the closure. For East Campus destinations, walking from Jennings Hall is recommended.
