Participate in a JMU Research Study on Hearing

The JMU Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is currently recruiting participants for a research study on hearing and listening.

The purpose of this study is to examine how auditory, cognitive, and self-reported communication factors relate to listening performance and hearing-related experiences in adults with different hearing profiles.

Eligible participants must:

  • be 18–79 years old,
  • be native speakers of American English, and
  • have hearing loss or hearing difficulties.

Total participation time is approximately 2 hours and may be completed in one or two sessions, based on the participant’s schedule and preference.

Participants will receive a free hearing assessment and $40 compensation for their time.
