Valley Scholars mentor recruitment

We are currently recruiting undergraduate students to mentor 8th graders throughout schools in Harrisonburg, Rockingham, Augusta, Staunton, Waynesboro, Page, and Shenandoah who will be the first in their families to attend college.

Mentors will also enroll in a 1-3-credit course that meets once a week and provides training and support. It’s a meaningful opportunity for students who care about education and community engagement.

• Mentors: Undergrads from any major
• Mentees: would-be first-gen(the first in their families to attend college) 8th graders
• Commitment: Weekly mentoring + 1-3-credit class
