Scheduled to launch December 1, 2017, a new intercity bus service called the Virginia Breeze will run from Virginia Tech’s campus in Blacksburg, Va to Washington D.C.’s Union Station with stops in Lexington, Harrisonburg, Front Royal, and Dulles Airport.

Thanks to a partnership between the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) and Coach USA, the same company that owns Megabus, the Virginia Breeze connects rural Virginia communities with the national bus network and other major travel corridors in the Commonwealth.

This new bus service features two daily routes—the northbound Virginia Breeze bus will leave Blacksburg at 8:00 a.m. and arrive at Union Station at 2:30pm. The southbound bus will leave Union Station at 9:20 a.m. and arrive in Blacksburg by 3:30 p.m.

Additional stops along the Virginia Breeze route include:

  • Virginia Tech’s Squires Student Center
  • Christiansburg’s Falling Branch Park and Ride
  • Lexington’s Food Lion in Stonewall Square
  • Staunton’s Martin’s on Richmond Ave.
  • Harrisonburg’s Godwin Transit Center at JMU
  • Front Royal’s Crooked Run Park and Ride
  • Dulles International Airport
  • West Falls Church Metro
  • Union Station in D.C.
