COVID-19 Testing Available


 

If you have been tested at one of the free testing events recently, they may contact you by phone. Please answer the call even if you don’t recognize the number and be sure your voicemail is set up and not full. 

Updated testing information:

  • UHC exit testing appointments are now full. Appointments are still available for students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please call 540-568-6178 to speak to a nurse.

Upcoming testing opportunities:

  • Hillandale Park, Nov. 20 from 7:30-10 a.m. FREE (sponsored by Health and Human Services, the Virginia Department of Health, City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County). No registration is required but if you have symptoms you can make an appointment by calling 540-574-5102. All others will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
  • Rockingham County Fairgrounds, Nov. 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. FREE (sponsored by Health and Human Services, the Virginia Department of Health, City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County) and open to all students, faculty, staff and the community. It is strongly suggested you preregister. If capacity still remains on Nov. 23, you also may register on-site.
  • UPARK, Dec. 2, 9 and 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. FREE (sponsored by Health and Human Services, the Virginia Department of Health, City of Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and JMU) and open to all students, faculty, staff and the community. It is strongly suggested you preregister and print the voucher and bring it with you. This will save time when you arrive.
  • Warren Hall (only for students who live on campus), Dec. 14, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. FREE, but you must have an appointment. Please complete these forms and bring with you to your appointment. 

Another opportunity (a bit further away):

  • November 19 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington (about 1 hour from JMU) from 2 to 6 p.m.  This is open to all students, faculty, staff and the community. You must preregister. To view the testing site, complete the Start Assessment on this site. You will have the option to change your zip code. Use 24450 to see this site. Please print your voucher and bring it with you. You should receive your results over the weekend (by Sunday).

Just a reminder that testing is only accurate for the time that it is administered, and results are usually returned in 2 to 5 days. Anyone who plans to be in close contact with others should take proper precautions by wearing a mask, washing hands frequently and avoiding exposure to those outside their social bubble.
