Keelee Armor, a sport and recreation management major, has been awarded the Stadium Managers Association Foundation Student Scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year.

The scholarship recognizes outstanding students in sports management programs and provides opportunities to network with industry leaders. Along with the scholarship, Armor receives complimentary student membership into SMA, ex-officio seat on the Foundation Board of Directors and a Student Seminar Internship.

Active in JMU’s athletics programs, Armor has worked as a building manager for JMU athletic facilities, an event manager, an instant replay sideline assistant and a football operations intern. A business minor, Armor also volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a “big sister” to a middle school-aged girl.

“This scholarship means a lot to me because not only does it help me financially, but also professionally because of the networking opportunities and abundance of resources the Stadium Managers Association has to offer,” Armor says. “For the past three years, I have been working hard for the athletic department in order to afford college, plus gain that hands on experience in the field of sports. This scholarship was a motivational reminder that my hard work is paying off.”
