JMU Student Earns Prestigious Award

Will Attend Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea

The Center for Global Engagement would like to congratulate Lizzie Hopkins, senior hospitality management major, for receiving the prestigious Global Korea Scholarship – a scholarship award designed to fund her studies as an exchange student at Kookmin University in Seoul, South Korea. The National Institute for International Education (NIIED), a Korean organization focused on global exchange, has selected Lizzie for this honor due to her strong accolades. The program at Kookmin University begins this spring. 

Established in 1946, Kookmin University is Korea’s first-ever private university. Lizzie will be one of 200 exchange students from around the world at the university this spring. Living in one of the world’s most populous cities, Lizzie will experience cultural exchange in this Asian capital, along with students from around the world.
