JMU's Women in Technology (WIT) club is returning to in-person events and holding a series of tech workshops, a keynote event with Dr. Lynn Lambert, lunch, and a tech giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021. DIGITAL stands for Dukes Inspiring Girls Into Technology Across Limits, and our students designed this event to invite young women from the Harrisonburg and surrounding school systems to come to JMU to learn about technology.

WIT will offer student-led workshops on Finch Robots, Arduinos, Web Design, Python Programming, Drone Races, and Python Turtle Art. Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lynn Lambert, is a Computer Science Professor at Christopher Newport University and will be giving a talk "But what if I don't have a passion?" The WIT team is excited to help local high school students envision their future in a tech field!

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend. Please email proof of vaccination to youthprograms@jmu.edu or bring documentation to the day of at check in. Masks will be required at all times in JMU buildings. Lunch will be held outside.
