Brantmeier named Editor of Journal of Peace Education

SUMMARY: James Madison University, today announced that Dr. Edward Brantmeier will be joining the Journal of Peace Education (JPE) as Editor, effective January 2022.


James Madison University, today announced that Dr. Edward Brantmeier will be joining the Journal of Peace Education (JPE) as Editor, effective January, 2022.

 

Dr. Edward Brantmeier will be joining as editor while working as a Professor in the Learning, Technology, and Leadership Education Department of the College of Education and as the Assistant Director of Scholarship Programs in the Center for Faculty Innovation at JMU. Dr. Brantmeier will be bringing his experience in sustainable peace leadership and learning and teaching inquiry to JPE, a journal dedicated to advance transformative education for the achievement of non-violent, ecologically sustainable, just, and participatory societies. 

Additionally, Dr. Brantmeier’s experiences that will benefit Journal of Peace Education moving forward include: 

  • Editorial board member and reviewer for JPE for over ten years.
  • Editorial board member and reviewer for Infactis Pax, Journal of Peace Education and Social Justice.
  • Founding co-editor for a book series on peace education with Information Age Publishing and served as a series co-editor from 2006-2016.
  • External reviewer for journals including: International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education; Peace and Conflict Studies; Journal of Educational Administration; Journal of Transformative Education; Comparative Education Review; Journal of Curriculum Studies; Diaspora, Indigenous & Minority Education and Revista Interamericana de Educación para la Democracia (RIED) or the Interamerican Journal of Education for Democracy (IJED); and Teachers College Record
