For many students, the time spent studying abroad is one of the most significant periods in their academic studies. Long afterward they continue to discover that the immersive experience of another culture pays dividends throughout their lives as they navigate new social and global career environments.

The College of Business is proud to offer a study abroad program in Antwerp, Belgium. What started as a summer program for marketing students in 2000 quickly developed into a spring, summer and fall semester-long event available to all CoB students. In 2002, it became a substantial curricular opportunity for students as available coursework included the 12 credit-hour integrative course known as COB 300.

Antwerp’s central European location is ideal for cultural exploration, but the program also takes advantage of its value as a business hub, with educational visits to local and international companies that call Belgium home.

“Taking classes with other University of Antwerp students and professors has opened my eyes to different cultures, languages and ways of thinking. The students my age here are creating change and developing innovative products and technology all by themselves. Now I don’t see why I shouldn’t be setting the sky as my limit for myself in my future studies and job search.”
