James Madison University's Hart School has just been ranked No. 5 on Study.com’s list of the “Best 50 Hospitality & Tourism Schools” in the nation. The ranking takes into account information from the U.S. Department of Education and added program benefits such as internship opportunities, hospitality clubs and honor societies, and comprehensive coursework or study abroad options.

An enthusiastic Neil Marrin, interim director of the Hart School, said, “We are very excited about this ranking. It is a direct result of the hard work of our faculty and staff and reflects the commitment they have to our students and their education. Our goal is to create tomorrow’s leaders in the Hospitality industry.”

JMU’s No. 5 ranking makes it No. 1 in the state of Virginia, according to the list. The only other Virginia school to appear on the list is Virginia Tech at No. 31.
