SUMMARY: JMU's Information Security (infosec) online MBA program has once again been ranked highest in the state by US News and World Report. Landing at an overall number 22 in the nation, it has moved up six spaces since its ranking of number 28 two years ago.

The ranking by US News and World Report aggregates a host of factors, including student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation, and admissions selectivity. The accessible and responsive faculty helped push its student engagement rank to seventh in the nation.

For two decades JMU has offered an Information Security MBA, which focuses on managerial decision making, analytical problem solving, oral and written communication, and application of theoretical constructs, all set in an information security framework. It prepares students to become managers with a strong understanding of business fundamentals, and the business implications of information security.

“We are pleased to once again be recognized as one of the best online MBA programs in the nation,” said Dr. Matt Rutherford, faculty director of JMU’s MBA Programs. “This ranking is a testament to the hard work of our talented students, faculty, and staff, and is representative of the fact that an MBA from JMU offers incredible return on investment, transformative experiences inside and outside of the classroom, and the ability to earn a valued degree while working full time.”
