Shawn Truman Receives Scholarship

International Business major receives Philip Morris Endowed Chair Scholarship

On Tuesday, April 12, the Virginia International Business Council (VAIBC) awarded Shawn Tuman, an International Business major, the VCU School of Business Philip Morris Endowed Chair Scholarship. The award was accompanied by a one-year membership to the VAIBC and an invitation to an award luncheon at The Omni Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. To qualify for this award, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, along with a statement of interest in international business and a faculty letter of recommendation. Tuman was sponsored by Dr. Bradley Newcomer, Director of the James Madison University (JMU) Honors Program and Professor of Physics. Established in 1948, the VAIBC aims to provide networking events, educational seminars and conferences for international trade professionals.
