On Monday, May 23, the Financial Management Association International (FMA) awarded James Madison University (JMU) the Superior Chapter Award for 2016.

FMA MembersEach year, less than 10% of student chapters receive this award out of over 175 nationwide. JMU will receive a plaque and recognition in the FMA eNewsletter and Financial Management journal in addition to recognition on the FMA Student website. The FMA Collegiate Fellows Program has also recognized rising senior Madison Fazio as a 2016 FMA Collegiate Fellow. This designation is awarded to students who are nominated by their chapter or faculty advisor and demonstrate one or more significant achievements during the academic year including exemplary leadership, program planning and implementation of activities or service. "I am so honored to be selected as a FMA Collegiate Fellow,” said Fazio. “FMA is a great organization that helps students gain insight into potential career paths within the financial industry to help them discover the opportunities that lie ahead post college. I look forward to seeing this organization continue to grow and develop at JMU.” Since 1970, FMA has aided in connecting students, academics, and current practitioners while promoting the development and understanding of research and strengthening the quality of financial education.
