PM, New Thai Envoy Push for Border Demining

(Phnom Penh Post) Prime Minister Hun Sen and new Thai ambassador Cherdkiat Atthakor have agreed to push for mine clearance along the Cambodia-Thailand border for the safety of residents.

The agreement came at a January 20 meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, where both officials called on the Joint Boundary Commission to have the frontier cleared of landmines, as well as to review the position of border markers and relocate them as required, according to a statement posted to Hun Sen’s official Facebook page.
