Shell Explosion in Southern Afghanistan Kills Child

(Khaama Press) The mortar shell explosion took place on Saturday, the 29th of October, in police district 3 of Lashkargah city, the province’s center, according to local Taliban officials in Helmand.

According to the Taliban official, the children were playing with an unexploded remnant of war, a mortar shell, which detonated and killed one child and injured the other.

The injured child, according to the local sources, was transported to the nearest hospital for medical attention, and the health authorities are optimistic about his recovering health.
