The United States announces $2.5 million in new funding for landmine clearance in Angola
CISRSUMMARY: Angola’s 27-year civil war may have ended in 2002 but the thousands of landmines laid during the conflict are still having a devastating impact. The United States has committed $2.5 million to support HALO’s landmine and explosive clearance work in the provinces of Bié, Kuando Kubango and Moxico. The project will start in October.
