Organization of American States Coordination Workshop on Mine Action in Colombia

SUMMARY: CISR Director Dr. Ken Rutherford, served as a moderator for "Involving Affected Communities in the Demining Process." The objective was to highlight the methodologies used by demining organizations to take into account local priorities and needs on the landmine situation from affected communities that serve to expedite the landmine clearance process and enable follow-on stabilization activities, including the repatriation of internally displaced persons.
