Students and recent alumni receive national recognitions

SUMMARY: Ava Galgano and Stephanie Ouderkirk are named 2023 Goldwater Scholars, Jackson White ('20) was awarded a 2023 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and Ani Davis ('22) was recognized with an NSF GRFP Honorable Mention


We are very pleased to announce that our students Ava Galgano and Stephanie Ouderkirk are named 2023 Goldwater Scholars. Ava plans to earn a doctorate in Immunology and "conduct vaccine development research and teach at the university level." Stephanie plans to earn a doctorate in Biochemistry. She wants to "conduct computational research in biomedical sciences and teach at the university level." The Goldwater Scholars Program is considered one of "the most prestigious undergraduate scholarships in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering." Congratulations Ava and Stephanie!

We are also pleased to announce that alumni Jackson White ('20) and Ani Davis ('22) received an NSF GRFP award and honorable mention. The NSF GRFP is a highly prestigious fellowship that provides awardees with a five-year, inclusive stipend. This fellowship is awarded to "high achieving scientists early in their careers." Congratulations Jackson and Ani!
